I’ve read about it in other designers’ blogs and articles, where they lament about their work being stolen, copied and worse, bastardised into a half-assed looking piece of work.
So I guess I’m considered lucky when all I’ve got copied from me is a X’mas promotion (the graphics and copy which I painstakingly thought of, were duplicated at 80%), and some paragraph-lifting from my post, ‘5 reasons not to hire us’.
But wait a minute, it’s not okay. I have the foresight to know that if I allow this nincompoop to continue lifting things from me, it means the following:
- Hey, it’s okay to take my stuff. Take more! Take all of it!
- If my clients and prospects happen to stumble upon his site, they may think that I’M the one doing the pinching
You know who you are. You are being watched. Do not mess with me.

Wow. I didn’t know that people are still so bold. I think it’s hurting her/his own business and reputation by doing this.

Yes I think plagiarism is bad. Especially for people in your industry. Too bad there are no official rules that can server punishment. Whatever it is, we know you’re much better. So don’t worry about it. Whoever this is won’t last long.

OMG! That’s so mean of anyone. Do you have the URL for me to take a look? I’ll pass it to other designers too. Hopefully he/she values his/her reputation enough to remove it.
Something like that has happened to me before also. It was a direct copy of source codes in my case. Let it go, not worth pursuing, believe in karma.
I’ll send you the contact of a lawyer who does I.P. From the looks of this scenario, I think you can use timestamps to prove you’re the original author. I still have your email so I’ll be happy to be a witness. I’m sure we’ll all be willing to help. I think he should remove whatever he’s posted and apologize to you.

He’s just being ‘cool’. This guy is very young man. Born in 1984. He should be a VCD burner in JB as occupation. Get paid to copy. He doesn’t have any pride.
Hey Vick, think you should just post his details up here, otherwise everyone has to keep asking you. Can ask Joseph and Laysuan to blog about it too since their traffic is good.
If she puts his details up here then when he removes his article , it’ll be a false accusation right? I think the matter should be laid to rest because there’s no point in pursuing the matter. Just know that such people exist.
Joseph says he’ll blog about this for you if you want, and he’ll tell people who ask who this person is. He always wanted to talk about plagiarism but never had a real case study.
My gosh. This is creating quite a stir. Yeah Ling, I’ll look forward to Joseph’s post. When he attacks, he attacks man.
